The Glass-Bottom Pool project at Bayu Bay Magic Hot Spring Park, located in Liaoning, China, posed challenges during the design phase. During the initial site inspection, AUPOOL engineers discovered that the project site is situated in a seismic zone. Records indicate that over 60 earthquakes with a magnitude of 4.7 or higher have occurred in this seismic zone, including 6 earthquakes between magnitude 7 and 7.9, and 1 earthquake with a magnitude exceeding 8. To overcome the seismic challenges, requirements for the resilience, quality, and installation precision of the pool glass bottom panels had to be elevated. Furthermore, Liaoning experiences extremely low temperatures in winter, reaching below minus thirty degrees Celsius, while summer temperatures can exceed thirty degrees Celsius, resulting in a temperature difference of over sixty degrees Celsius. In such an environment, the glass pool bottom panels also demand high weather resistance.
With extensive construction experience in acrylic glass pool projects, Aupool divided the entire glass pool bottom into five sections, using high-quality acrylic glass panels integrated with concrete structures. The project was completed, with the transparent area measuring 2798.6 square feet. Aupool's acrylic glass panels exhibit excellent weather resistance and seismic resistance, meeting all requirements for the construction of the glass-bottom pool at Bayu Bay Magic Hot Spring Park.
